Earlier today, disabled models catwalked on the runway at the New York Fashion Show.
Modeling
during FTL Moda’s AW15 show, which featured renown designers with a
“made in Italy” theme. The show was held in conjunction with Fondazione
Vertical, an Italian foundation that supports research to find a cure
for spinal cord injuries.
In
an interview granted to Ticker Report the show’s producer, Ilaria
Niccolini said ‘It is a very significant moment in my fashion career,
this opportunity to finally open the most recognised runways in the
world to these beautiful talents, ready to show that disability is very
often just a mental state by performing on the runway next to some of
the best models on the scene.
The New York Fashion week, this year, has been showcasing a lot of diversity in no little way.
